JUSTICE
WHAT IS JUSTICE?
Injustice: not being treated fairly, corruption of equality.
Society: the world we live in, community based on what we should be, invisible walls.
Prejudice: discrimination, to judge without understanding, to pre-judge.
Equality: treating people fairly, balanced and equal rights, people treated the same.
The Ideas of Justice
1. Justice means different things to different people.
2. Sometimes it is less important to seek justice than it is to seek peace.
3. Legal justice does not always ensure moral justice.
4. The idea of justice can vary over time, place and society.

Food For Thought
1. What was your first thought on looking at this image?
That even if everyone is equal that still doesn’t mean that there will be justice. For example the death penalty, if that was equal everyone that got charged for the same thing would end up with the equal consequence, but that doesn’t mean this is justice.
2. How does the creator of the image represent equality? How does she/he see it as different from justice?
Although we may be equal, this could be hard due to lack of knowledge, disabilities or other factor, like in the image being equal doesn’t mean it is fair.
3. Do you agree with the tagline 'equality doesn't mean justice'? Why/Why not.
I would have agreed with it until I saw this image, it made me realise that it is true being equal doesn’t mean justice.
4. Would you describe the figure on the right of the two panels as disadvantaged or disabled? Why/why not?
Disadvantaged because the person who is smallest cannot see whereas the other can all due to height differences.
5. What kind of political or social change might this poster be advocating? Do you find it effective?
It made to have an impact on the way people see the world everyone wants to be equal but what they haven’t thought about is if being equal is really having justice.
6. When you close your eyes and think of the word ‘justice’, what image comes into your mind? How would you define what justice means to you personally?
The image that comes to mind is when people can walk everywhere freely without the impact of criticism effecting everyone. Justice to me means that everyone can walk around without being judged for who they are, justice means we can be ourselves.
7. Does our school work for justice? If so, what kind of justice and for whom?
Yes the school works for justice, it doesn’t work for someone in particular instead it works for the community as a whole, the school gives justice for the people receiving an education because if you have an education that means you have power.
